Who We Are

The Climate Action Campaign  is a vibrant coalition of a dozen major national environment, environmental justice, and public health groups, working together to drive ambitious, durable federal action based on science, to address the climate crisis. Our goal is to reduce climate pollution and accelerate the transition to clean energy and a sustainable society in ways that support justice, jobs, improved health and quality of life for all. The Climate Action Campaign is based in Washington D.C., not San Diego, California

About the Position 

The Climate Action Campaign is looking for a multitasking, detail-oriented, self-driven individual to join our operations team in ensuring our fast-paced coalition functions as effectively as possible. With guidance from the Operations Manager and Senior Director of Operations, the Operations Coordinator will:

  • Office Management (30%)
    • Coordinate the day-to-day operations of office including but not limited to, coordinating office supplies, equipment maintenance, and mainintiang a clean and organized workspace.
    • Receive and distribute mail and packages, as well as manage incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring they reach the intended recipients promptly
    • Assist with office and kitchen supplies and refreshments ordering with the Operations Manager.
    • Act as the first point of contact for visitors and employees, welcoming guests, answering phone calls, and addressing inquiries in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Maintain Organizational Operations (30%)
    • Support project management for campaign-wide initiatives and surge moments, as requested
    • Provide operational and systematic support to the Campaign Director and others, as requested
    • Manage campaign-wide contracts using filing and approval systems
    • Schedule, support, and staff routine meetings and briefings
    • Work with Operations Team and Sr. Director of Operations to manage organizational operations,campaign-wide service support, and Egencia travel booking
    • Provide administrative support to Senior Director of Operations, as requested
    • Develop and copy-edit presentations, reports, and memos, as requested
    • File and track credit card expenses and receipts
    • Identify professional development training opportunities for staff members
  • High-level Coalition Meeting Support (30%)
    • Work with Operations team and Sr. Director of Coalition Management to prepare slide decks and gather other materials for distribution for coalition meetings
    • Manage scheduling, invitations, materials, CAC internal documents, and other products for the high-level coalition meetings
    • Attend and support high-level coalition meetings to gather due outs and prepare a readout for distribution, as requested
    • Schedule and organize day-of logistics for the high-level coalition meetings, including catering, printed materials, location, and meeting tech
  • Ad hoc support for other duties as assigned (10%)
    • Support various teams and departmenrts, with ad-hoc tasks and projects, as needed.

Who You Are

A successful candidate for this position is a mission-driven, hardworking, confident individual who has/is:

  • One to three years of relevant administrative experience working in a fast-paced environment. Non-profit or political/campaign enviroment, preferred.
  • Acute time-management, keen attention to detail, superior organizational skills, ability to multitask and take initiative
  • Professional maturity and highly organized with quick problem-solving skills
  • Proficient with Google Suite and MS Office. Knowledge of Slack, Asana, and Zoom is a plus.
  • Exceptional communication, writing, and editing skills
  • A positive attitude and a sense of humor
  • Interest in environmental issues, politics, and campaigns a plus

The Fine Print

This is a full  time, non-exempt position based in Washington, DC.

The target salary range for this position is $55,000-$60,000, depending on experience. We offer an excellent benefits package that includes 100% employer-paid medical, dental, and vision insurance, generous paid time off, and a 401k plan.
