Vegetation Management Technician We are seeking motivated individuals to fill four (4) Vegetation Management Technician positions within our Maintenance Division. This role is crucial in managing and maintaining the County’s natural and developed landscapes.

What You’ll Do:

• Inspect and monitor vegetation, managing noxious weeds and growth.
• Use pest management and chemical application techniques.
• Maintain and operate equipment safely, adhering to regulations.
• Work outdoors in varying conditions, using required PPE.

Minimum Qualifications:

• License: Must have a valid California Driver’s License (out-of-state licenses accepted during the application process).
• Certificate: Must obtain a Qualified Applicator Certificate (categories A, B, C, D, F, G) within 9 months of hire.
• Experience: Two years of full-time experience in weed eradication and vegetation management.

Desirable Qualifications:

• Agriculture Pest Control Advisor License (categories A, B, D, E, G)
• Experience with landscape equipment (mowers, trimmers, chainsaws, etc.)
• Background in landscape maintenance or greenhouse work.

2. Multiple Choice Assessment:  Candidates who possess the minimum qualifications will be invited to participate in an online multiple-choice examination. The exam will measure candidates' competencies as they relate to the job. These may include but are not limited to: attention to detail, professional and technical expertise, reading comprehension, and safety focus (Weighted 100%)
   • The assessment will be administered remotely using a computer or mobile device such as a tablet. You will need access to a reliable internet connection, as well as a computer or mobile device with a camera to participate in the assessments.

3. Departmental Hiring Interview:  Interviews will be scheduled by the department once the eligible list is established. (TBD)
