Job Description

Our climate action-focused digital marketing agency seeks an experienced sales rep to introduce and sell our super-affordable digital products and services to small and midsize business to help them thrive, AND help achieve our climate mission.
This is a part-time, home-based, independent contractor position with a 1099 IRS tax status. Those with business and/or communication or media training and skills are also welcome to apply.

Climate Mission

A1) We will donate 10% of our gross revenue to 5 of the most impactful climate nonprofit organizations (TBD/Ex: Sierra Club, The Nature Conservancy, Greenpeace). A2) We will also encourage each business customer to consider donating 1% of their profits to an impactful climate nonprofit of their choice

B) We will provide regular educational webinars on sustainable practices to inform and encourage businesses on ways to reduce their energy, waste, water and resource use, ideally to have those savings improve their bottom line.

C) We will also provide regular educational webinars by experts in Green Banking and Sustainable Investing (ESG) to help businesses and their employees identify if some of their current investments (mutual funds, pension funds, etc.) might inadvertently be supporting climate change, the fossil fuel industry or other industries that are at odds with their business or personal values. Businesses will be encouraged to research options for themselves and consider moving some (modest) amount of funds into green banks &/or more sustainable investments.

Base, Training and Support
All terms will be spelled out in a written agreement.
The successful sales rep will receive a base pay of $50/hour, plus commission. At this rate (paid training) we will train you on our products, services, strategy and marketing materials. This is part-time, independent contractor, 1099 IRS status position.  Later the hourly base rate will decrease, slowly, at a rate mutually determined, ideally as sales and recurring, reliable, monthly income grows from recurring monthly revenue, as many of our products are monthly subscriptions.

Products, Services and Fulfillment
For products sold individually, or as a bundled package, you will earn a 50% commission. For any products/services that are monthly subscriptions you will continue to earn 50% commission monthly as long as the subscription lasts.
We will provide fulfillment of all products and services, and customer support.
However, sales reps will ‘own’ the customer relationship.
Any upsells will also earn the same commission as the original sale, including monthly subscription sales.

With our training and weekly support/coaching meetings we expect you to become successful. We will work with you and support you to the fullest extent we can.

Weekly Payments
All payments will be made on Friday each week for any sales payments which have cleared our bank.

Transparency
We will track all sales in Google Drive providing transparency so everyone sees leads, closed sales, payments due and payments received.

Qualified Leads at No Cost, Ever
We will provide leads at no cost to you using a data mining tool that we have. Our target markets are small and midsize businesses in home improvement (HVAC, roofing, kitchen & bath, landscaping, pools, etc.) and professional services (chiro, dentist, accounting, law, financial svcs, etc). We will provide business name, address, phone and email if available. Qualified Leads means businesses identified as having some specific need or opportunity, such as having many bad reviews, or not having a video on their homepage, so you have one or more reasons to contact, effectively engage and introduce our products and services.

Climate Club Membership
We also offer a unique, extremely affordable and cost-effective 3-tiered monthly subscription model affordable for any business. Tier 1 is free for 2 referrals/month. Tier 2 – $20/month. Tier 3 – $50/month. Sales of Climate Club memberships also earn a 50% commission as long as the subscription lasts and as long as you are actively participating with our business.

Business Owner Background and Experience
With 25 years as Sr. Account Manager at Pacific Gas and Electric Co. in marketing, promoting energy efficiency to business customers, and several years as a sustainability consultant, energy & resource efficiency and climate action is my life’s mission. There is much to be done and the window for impactful action is rapidly closing.
