General Description
The ISSP Programs Manager plays an important role within a rapidly growing organization, overseeing the day-to-day operations and the project management of multiple programs, initiatives and staff. As the leading global professional association in the field of sustainability, we are seeking a candidate with a demonstrated passion for sustainability and for furthering sustainable development globally. This role is a full-time, exempt salaried position, with the potential to carry broader organizational leadership responsibilities. The successful candidate will be encouraged to obtain their SEA/SEP credential if they do not already have it.
Reporting Relationship
This position reports to the ISSP Executive Director
Primary Responsibilities
The Programs Manager is responsible for day-to-day operations, project management of staff/contractors, and programs.
Effectively manage daily operations of the organization, including:
- Support monthly webinar programming (event setup, presenter support, and host webinar)
- Support Operations Coordinator activities including member/non-member questions/requests, YM and Freestone platform management, and programming
- Support ED needs and generate monthly reports
- Support Communications Manager activities (newsletter, blog, social media, and marketing)
- Maintain and use a high-level working knowledge of significant developments and trends in the sustainability field
- Attend meetings as needed/requested
Support ISSP’s fiscal operations and financial reporting per approved annual budget
- Process credit card payment refunds/adjustments as required
- Work with bookkeeper to generate monthly financial statements and yearly financial projections
- Pay organization bills
- Deposit check payments (through mobile app)

- Support ED in the development and implementation of a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion program for ISSP
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; sustainability knowledge required
- A minimum of 3 years relevant experience in program/project management, membership association management, or nonprofit management
- Understanding of climate change, sustainability, ESG/CSR, environmental, and social impact fields. Familiarity with professional credentials and certifications will be an asset
- Financial management and reporting experience
- Knowledge of on-demand professional development programming, with experience in developing and managing such programs preferred
- Demonstrated experience in managing staff and/or volunteers
- Experience in member development, engagement, and retention
- Competency in Microsoft/Google applications including Word/Docs, Excel/Sheets, and Powerpoint/Slides
- Native/bilingual proficiency in English, additional languages preferred
Additional consideration will be given to candidates who:
- Currently hold or currently pursuing SEA or SEP credentials
- Have experience in data collection, analysis, and report generation
- Have experience working with Learning Management Systems (LMS) Association Management System (AMS), and/or Customer Relationship Management (CRM)
- Have ISSP membership
- Have multicultural and/or cross-cultural experience

- Comfortable working virtually with a distributed team
Position Details
- Salary and benefits range: $60,900 to $70,000 per year
- Professional development allowance provided to all staff
- Complementary access to ISSP professional development courses, and SEA & SEP credential exam study materials
- Must be currently authorized to work in the United States
- ISSP is a virtual organization so this position will be performed remotely
- Flexible time off policy with availability to participate regularly in remote meetings as necessary
