Program Outreach Coordinator
The Program Outreach Coordinator is a full-time (40 hrs/week) position with the Carolina Farm Stewardship Association (CFSA). The Program Outreach Coordinator works with CFSA program staff to engage farmers, individuals, and allied organizations in CFSA’s programs for farmers, including two Climate-Smart Commodity projects and a Transition to Organic Partnership project. The Program Outreach Coordinator may work remotely from anywhere in the Carolinas or out of our Pittsboro, NC office and will require frequent travel throughout the Carolinas. The Program Outreach Coordinator reports to the Farm Services Director and supervises no staff members.

CFSA is a 44-year-old member-based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose mission is to advocate, educate, and build connections to create sustainable food systems centered on local and organic agriculture in the Carolinas. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
GENERAL ADMINISTRATION (10%)
- Work with the Farm Services Director and Local Food Program Director to develop annual work plans that support CFSA’s mission, goals, and strategic plan.
- Assist with program monitoring to ensure compliance, progress towards objectives and expected results, and work plan and budget adherence.
- Increase recognition of and engagement with our mission, programs, and impact by engaging current members and recruiting new members.
ENGAGEMENT & OUTREACH (60%)
- Create and grow new relationships with farmers and community
- Facilitate one-on-one engagement with socially disadvantaged
- Build and maintain regional partnerships with historically underserved farmers and organizations in the Carolinas.
- Attend, table, and present at events to communicate CFSA’s goals and programs and encourage and promote CFSA membership and support.
- Promote technical assistance programs and pursue new opportunities to present the programs within the community.
COMMUNICATIONS MARKETING (30%)
- Work with the Communications team to develop a marketing plan for CFSA’s technical assistance programs for farmers. Create collateral as needed.
- Assist the Programs Team in promoting workshops and other events on CFSA and partner’s events pages, listservs, and other avenues.
- Create ways for staff to identify stories from programmatic staff to be told or
- Coordinate with CFSA’s program staff to provide timely, relevant, and accessible
- Develop and implement a promotional plan and outreach materials for CFSA’s technical assistance programs for farmers.
- Write content for CFSA’s external communications, including the Grower’s Toolbox, list serves, social media accounts, and other publications.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant work
- Strong writing and communication
- Experience with community
- Experience with multimedia platforms, including audio or video production, graphic design, and photography.
- Demonstrated experience with social media content
- Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion, including experience interacting and working with diverse communities, neighborhoods, and
- Familiarity with agriculture and local food
- Bachelor’s degree in agriculture/environmental education, communications, marketing, or another related field, or equivalent experience.
The salary range for this position is $40,000 – $50,000, commensurate with experience. In addition, CFSA offers generous vacation, retirement, and health insurance benefits.
