Program Educator (Seasonal) – Otters Den Nature School | Bellingham, WA

Otters Den Nature School is seeking a passionate Program Educator to lead hands-on outdoor learning for elementary-aged students in our licensed nature-based after-school program. If you enjoy environmental education, fostering curiosity, and helping children build confidence and connection through nature, we’d love to hear from you.

Position Details

• Seasonal: September 15 – October 22, 2026
• 15–20 hours/week, Tuesday–Thursday
• $21/hour
• Opportunity for spring seasonal rehire for the April program

Responsibilities

• Lead engaging outdoor lessons in ecology, environmental science, and nature exploration.
• Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
• Inspire environmental stewardship, teamwork, resilience, and curiosity.
• Collaborate with the Program Director to prepare lessons and support diverse learners.

Qualifications

• 18+ years old
• High school diploma plus nature-based education or training
• Experience working with children in outdoor, environmental, or educational settings
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather
• Reliable, enthusiastic, and committed to child-centered learning
• Spanish language skills are helpful
