Full-Time Program Associate – Resilient Agriculture & Ecosystems

Wallace Center – Posted by Wallace Center Anywhere

Job Description

The Wallace Center at Winrock International is a national leader in sustainable regional farming and food system development. Our mission is to bring together diverse people and ideas to co-create solutions that build healthy farms, equitable economies, and resilient food systems. We envision a future where all communities have the power to nourish themselves and regenerate ecosystems through just food and agricultural systems.

Since 1983, the Wallace Center has been working to affect systems change that brings benefits to the environment, to communities, and to the farmers and food businesses that are the building blocks of a just and equitable food system. Through the support of our partners and funders, we engage with organizations and individuals working on local and regional food systems development across the country.  We are committed to centering anti-racism, racial equity, and inclusion in our programs, operations, and culture.

The Resilient Agriculture & Ecosystems (RAE) Program Associate will join the Wallace Center as a full-time paid position. The RAE team works to advance regenerative agriculture and livestock grazing as scalable, market-driven solutions for building healthy soil, viable farms, and resilient communities. We work with a range of partners to build resources, provide technical assistance, and remove barriers to expanding regenerative practices. This work includes the Pasture Project, a multi-pronged effort to support regenerative grazing, and the Regenerative Ag Idea Network, a peer learning network.

We are looking for a motivated candidate who is talented at multitasking in a fast-paced nonprofit environment. This individual should have the focus to handle complex, evolving responsibilities with a high degree of autonomy, accountability, and attention to detail. These responsibilities include managing relationships with internal and external partners and supporting work related to U.S. agriculture, livestock, and value-chain systems. This position will support innovative efforts to advance regenerative agriculture outreach, education, and practice adoption.

The Wallace Center is actively centering racial and economic justice in our work and seeks candidates eager to forward that mission. The Center is committed to building a diverse staff and encourages applications from candidates of color. This is a remote position, with the option to work at one of Winrock International’s offices in Arlington, VA or Little Rock, AR. International sponsorship is not available. This is an entry-level position with significant support for training and professional development. Candidates who meet most qualifications but not all are still invited to apply.

For more information, please see a full job description here. Applications are due by January 15, 2023. Salary range is $52,000 – $58,000 and will be commensurate with experience and/or level of education. Excellent benefits offered.
