Are you passionate about clean water and enjoy working outdoors? Our team manages the public vegetated stormwater system for clean air, clean water and a healthy community. Our division is currently seeking a leader who is interested in an exciting career opportunity to help manage the day to day public vegetated stormwater system. The primary duty of this position will be leading a small team of regular and seasonal employees in the management of this operations and maintenance program.

This position provides a chance to lead others and work outdoors in a fun and rewarding team environment. The purpose of the field crew lead position is to perform, organize, and oversee routine maintenance activities of the public vegetated stormwater facilities program per maintenance standards. Functions as ongoing field lead at the job site(s), documents and tracks program activities, assists with program outreach efforts, and represents our program at community events. Collaborates with Eugene Public Works staff and fulfill community goals around clean water initiatives and public safety within our public green spaces.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Experience:
Four years of increasingly responsible experience in general park maintenance with specialized skills in areas such as custodial services, general land management, grounds keeping, green infrastructure and natural area maintenance.

License or Certificate:
Possession of a valid Class A Commercial Oregon driver’s license or ability to obtain by date of hire; must pass driving records check and, if hired, maintain a driving record that meets the City’s standard. Oregon law requires that an out-of-state license holder must obtain a valid Oregon license (with appropriate endorsements) within 30 days of becoming domiciled in the state (ORS 803.355). Preference may be given to applicants who possess the license at the time of application.

Possession of, or ability to acquire within 6 months, flagger certification.

Possession of, or ability to acquire within one year, Pesticide Applicator License with Herbicide Certification in the appropriate licensing category.
