City of Eugene’s parks and open space system provides spaces to play, run, hike, bike, commute or simply relax in. One can even say the park system is an essential thread of the community’s quality of life. The greenspaces along Eugene’s transportation system include over 50,000 street trees, 200 medians, and 500 vegetated stormwater quality facilities which are part of and maintained by the Parks and Open Space Division. Our division is currently seeking individual(s) to fill entry-level park specialist position(s) who are interested in an exciting career opportunity working outdoors, advancing clean water initiatives, and reducing environmental impacts to the urban landscape while keeping our greenspaces safe, clean and green.

The primary duties of this position will perform routine landscape maintenance tasks including pruning, mulching, irrigation, litter, and debris pick-up within the public right of way. Must have the ability to perform strenuous manual work under varying weather conditions. Successful candidate(s) must demonstrate positive attitude, customer service, compassion, and dependability in their daily performance of this work. This entry-level position provides a chance to work in a fun and rewarding team environment.

Salary Range

$24.45 – $30.46/ hourly; $50,856.00 – $63,356.80/ annually

Minimum Qualifications:

One year manual work in grounds keeping, parks and/or natural area maintenance or building maintenance.<
