Job Description

This is a great opportunity for young naturalists, college students and nature enthusiasts to gain leadership and work experience in outdoor education. This paid internship has additional opportunities to develop interpretive program materials, leading remote naturalist programs via Zoom and other special projects such as writing an interpretive brochure or adding to our curriculum.

We welcome people who have no prior experience working in the field with students, but are eager to learn and take on leadership. We welcome BIPOC folks who are interested in serving the diverse students of the SF bay area. We welcome college students enrolled at Merritt College’s Natural History Certificate Program, or UC Berkeley’s Natural History Program or Interpretive Student Aides already working with EBRPD. Because this is a seasonal part-time internship with limited hours, this may be perfect for the college student studying natural history and is passionate about the ecology and cultural history of the bay area. Our field trip programs take place at Middle Harbor Shoreline Park, within the Port of Oakland.
