Full-Time Media Coordinator

Buffalo Field Campaign – Posted by BFC West Yellowstone, Montana, United States

Job Description

Buffalo Field Campaign (BFC) is pleased to announce that we are hiring a Media Coordinator. Are you passionate about wildlife conservation? Do you dream about an opportunity to be on the frontlines of Yellowstone bison advocacy? If so, this may be the job for you. Telling the Campaign’s story and unifying the voices of our supporters is vitally important. We seek a dynamic individual who is capable of communicating the Campaign’s mission and initiatives to our supporters, legislators, and the general public.

Buffalo Field Campaign is the only group working both in the field and in the policy arenas to stop the harassment and slaughter of America’s last wild buffalo, the Yellowstone Herds. The Media Coordinator position oversees the logistics and creation of the campaign’s strategic messaging. Direct communication with the public is critical to BFC’s mission– spreading awareness about the government mismanagement of the last continuously wild, genetically pure buffalo is the best way to achieve permanent protections for our national mammal. BFC is looking for an individual with a demonstrated interest in environmentalism, a strong background in communication, and a commitment to protecting the sacredness of wild buffalo and the Yellowstone Ecosystem.

The media coordinator is responsible for the Campaign’s communications strategy, outreach and education, and organizing outreach efforts of BFC supporters, volunteers, and coordinators to ensure consistent messaging, efficiency, and opportunities for citizen advocacy.

The Media Coordinator ensures that messages, materials, and media are consistent with BFC’s goals, vision, mission, and policies.

Position requires excellent written and oral communication, public speaking, and attention to detail. Strong time management skills and the ability to juggle competing priorities are essential. Preferred skills include journalism, facilitation of public involvement, administration of social media platforms, and willingness to participate in field operations. Experience may substitute for education. This is a fulltime position located in West Yellowstone, Montana.

Benefits

Housing is available as one of six private cabins at the rate of $200/month with meals provided by our Chef in the Lodge and includes free internet and heat.
