Business Development Lead

About the Role
The Business Development Lead is responsible for building the Go-to-Market strategy for a disruptive new technology poised to transform the electric semi-trucking industry. Working closely with the CEO, the Business Development Lead will engage a broad variety of logistics customers to understand their fleet electrification needs, refine our product offering, and onboard major commercial customers. This work is foundational for Jaro’s growth as we work to address a $20B emerging market and a huge, unresolved source of carbon emissions and urban pollution.

What You’ll Do
The core responsibilities of the Business Development Lead are to:

  • Engage trucking and logistics companies to deeply understand their fleet electrification needs.
  • Iterate product offering to demonstrate clear, scalable product-market fit.
  • Secure agreements for commercial deployments.
  • Work with CEO and Engineering Lead to provide strategic leadership for the organization.

What You’ll Bring
Excellent candidates will:

  • Have extensive B2B customer experience with hardware products, ideally in a startup environment.
  • Have a track record of successful go-to-market work in relevant industries including logistics, supply chain, EV charging, EVs, and/or grid-tied assets.
  • Have or be able to rapidly build a professional network in the logistics/supply chain industry.
  • Think creatively and opportunistically to resolve critical business challenges
    Communicate effectively to share learnings and make clear group decisions
    Thrive in nimble, small-team environments with significant individual autonomy
    Value diverse ideas, backgrounds, and problem solving styles
    Display leadership qualities that align with Teal organizational values

Compensation and Benefits
Jaro provides transparent and equitable compensation packages for all employees, and we offer a generous benefits package. We cover 100% of employee premiums and 75% of dependent premiums for medical, dental, and vision insurance.
