About the Position: The Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District (Midpen) is seeking a Human Resources (HR) Intern in the Human Resources Department. The HR Intern responsibilities will include assisting in district wide recruitment processes such as full-cycle recruitment support and recruitment metrics, providing support with recruitment marketing and social media outreach, performing research and analytical work to strengthen HR programs and projects, and other related work as assigned. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, enjoys working both collaboratively in teams and independently, demonstrates a strong attention to detail with excellent administrative and organizational skills, and has an enthusiastic “can-do” attitude with a passion for learning and growing in the HR field.  This is a unique opportunity to be exposed to the various functions of HR while gaining professional public sector work experience and making an impact.  The expected start date for this position is March or April 2023.

Basic Requirements: Internships are open to applications from current students or recent graduates (within the last 12 months). Experience with social media platforms and email marketing platforms are a plus. The HR intern will have the desire to gain first-hand knowledge of HR programs and processes within a mission driven public agency.  Possession of or ability to obtain a valid California driver’s license.

Schedule: This position will work on-site and report to the HR department at Midpen offices in Los Altos, California, and will work under the guidance of our passionate and dedicated HR staff.  This is a part-time non-benefited position, working approximately 20 hours per week (school schedules can be accommodated). Interns may work up to a total of 950 hours over a 6-to-9-month period.
