Extension Faculty – Community Development

UVM Extension is accepting applications for an exciting career opportunity as an Extension Assistant Professor in Community Development. We are looking for an individual to join us in growing and building our research and programming capacity.

This is a union-represented, 12-month, 0.80 FTE faculty position with the opportunity to increase to 1.0 FTE through grants. This position will be housed in one of UVM Extension’s 11 field offices.

UVM Extension is especially interested in candidates who can grow and lead a statewide extension program based on sustaining and strengthening Vermont communities. The successful candidate will provide educational outreach, technical assistance, and program leadership that builds citizens’ capacity to identify goals and develop systems to implement those goals with special emphasis on addressing the experiences of underrepresented individuals in organizations. They will also grow and lead a statewide extension program based on sustaining and strengthening Vermont communities.

A Ph.D. in community or economic development, rural sociology or a related discipline is required. The ideal candidate will have technical expertise in program development, implementation, and evaluation. Demonstrated expertise in applied research and program management, as well as the ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively to a wide range of audiences will be required.
