Overview

Bedford 2030 is seeking its next Executive Director to lead this grass roots climate action organization as it seeks to achieve its goals of reducing greenhouse gas emissions and preserving natural resources in the Town of Bedford, NY.

The new Executive Director will join the organization in late fall 2024 and will lead the Bedford 2030 staff who, along with its active Board of Directors, create and run programs to enable residents and the municipality to take impactful climate action.

Succeeding the current Executive Director, who will have led the organization for 13 years, the new ED will be empowered with Bedford 2030’s strong and successful track record, its highly respected brand, municipal leadership that makes decisions through a sustainable lens, and a community that values and supports the organization’s work.

Job Summary

The Executive Director is responsible for providing strategic leadership to the organization, overseeing the day-to-day operations, and ensuring the fulfillment of our mission and goals. This role involves managing staff, oversight of program development and implementation, engaging with stakeholders, fundraising, managing our financial resources, exploring strategic partnerships and representing the organization externally.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree.

Demonstrated leadership experience in the non-profit, environmental or climate action sector.

Passion for climate action, environmental policy, and sustainability principles.

Willingness to work with equally passionate people, among staff, the board and the community.

Proven track record in fundraising, grant writing, and donor cultivation.

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage diverse audiences and stakeholders.

Strong strategic planning, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.

Experience in staff management.

Strong ability to multi-process, with big picture vision and excellent attention to execution detail.

It is desirable for the organization that the candidate live in or near Bedford, NY and be willing to spend time in the footprint of our work.

Salary range: $85,000-$100,000, in accordance with experience.
