Job Description

The Environmental Law Alliance Worldwide (ELAW) seeks a skilled scientist to join its team in Eugene, Oregon. Our three scientists hold PhDs in biochemistry, marine ecology, and geography, and they work with other professionals on our US team to support a deep and wide portfolio of work by public interest lawyers around the world to protect ecosystems, prevent pollution, and defend the human right to a healthy environment. We hope to augment their substantial experience and further build our technical team. Our science team helps public interest lawyers interpret technical information to use in their advocacy and to help their clients and NGO partners participate effectively in decisions that affect their ecosystems and communities.

The qualified candidate will have an advanced degree in a field that adds unique value to our team, a strong commitment to environmental justice, and experience working with lawyers. Fluency in English is required, and additional language skills are strongly preferred.
