The Risk Management and Safety Operations Lead will have oversight and responsibility to maintain OSHA and NFPA compliance for Process Safety Management and assist the Environmental, Health & Safety Department with the EPA risk management plan. An organized, self-motivated, problem solver to support a 250 plus employee facility. The Chilton facility manufactures Bernzomatic and Coleman brands. The company is the world’s leading manufacturer of gas cylinders and torches and manufactures 50 million annually.

  •   Design/analyze manufacturing equipment/processes to ensure the safety of employees and facility
  • Evaluate risks associated w/ manufacturing processes & develop safe manufacturing protocols/procedures
  • Ensure process engineering standards/procedures are met during development, design & construction phases of a project
  • Responsible for risk management associated w/ PSM covered processes
  • Review Management of Change (MOC) & organize effective/efficient Process Safety Trainings (PSI, MOC, TC&S etc.)
  • Perform various functions, working collectively & collaboratively with other project Engineers, Operations, Safety, and Maintenance to provide loss prevention & risk management support regarding the hazardous chemicals and processes within the facilities
  • Ensure safety for people utilizing equipment, and processes surround propane, propylene, and butane, improved safety by reducing RPN associated with current SOPs, increase production yields through mechanical integrity improvements (ie. Preventative maintenance enhancements or implementing new technology) and overall compliance with the Process Safety Standard for the organization

Qualifications:

  • Process safety experience preferred and/ or Risk and Safety
  • Working knowledge of OSHA and NFPA regulations regarding LPG
  • Working knowledge of SOP’s and MOC’s within controlled processes
  • Strong mechanical aptitude for piping processes and fluid dynamics
  • Strong organization skills and a self-motivated individual
  • 2 -5 plus years of manufacturing experience with medium to high level of automation
  • 1 to 2 years project management experience in low to medium complexity projects
  • Relevant engineering degree or equivalent experience
