We will be hiring two people for this work; one ideally in Southern Ventura County/Northern Los Angeles County and one in San Diego County.

Primary Responsibilities

The primary role of the Bilingual Energy and Sustainability Specialist is to help businesses take advantage of energy efficiency offerings as the first step in the journey to become a Certified Green Business. Key responsibilities include recruitment of businesses to participate in energy efficiency upgrades through energy assessments and contractor referrals. Additionally, assist businesses to gain certification through the California Green Business Network. Friendly, organized, outgoing people are encouraged to apply! Bilingual Spanish (preferably native) speaker a must. We will be hiring two people for this work; one ideally in Southern Ventura County/Northern Los Angeles County and one in San Diego County.

In an average week the Specialist will:

• Recruit, visit in person, and support businesses in their efforts to conserve energy. Install basic energy conservation measures and make referrals to a pool of vetted trade contractors for more complicated installations.
• Track, summarize, and present your progress to your Director and your client — must be highly organized and tech savvy!
• Assist a subset of those businesses to go on to get Certified as Green Businesses by either referring them to a local coordinator or assisting them yourself.
• Support the Regional Director and Program Coordinator with other tasks as needed.
• Visit recently Certified Green Businesses and collect content for social media including photos, videos, and quotes.
• Engage with business associations and community based organizations that can help your business recruitment efforts
