Coupeville Farm to School on Whidbey Island in Washington State is looking for AmeriCorps members to fill two positions: School Food Educator and School Farmer.

The Coupeville School Educator will be partnering with the Coupeville School District to teach kids hands-on gardening and cooking.  They will be creating and carrying out gardening lessons and cooking activities, while also engaging in community events, volunteer events, and collaborations with other Island organizations.  Start date is September 1.  For more information, visit https://my.americorps.gov/mp/listing/viewListing.do?fromSearch=true&id=105246 .

The Coupeville School Farmer will be partnering with the Coupeville School District to support distribution of local produce from the on-site school farm.  They will be serving in partnership with the school district and their needs for local food distribution directly from the school farm for the school meals.  Corps Member swill also support educational opportunities with teachers who want to teach their students about agriculture.  Start Date is October 15.  For more information, visit https://my.americorps.gov/mp/listing/viewListing.do?fromSearch=true&id=105362 

Positions are through Washington Service Corps.  All applicants must be 25 years and younger at the start of their term, and pass a background check (including fingerprints) to be eligible.  Members commit to a 40 hour per week, 10.5 month service term and will receive a $2308 monthly living stipend (pre-tax), qualified student loan forbearance, a basic health plan, childcare (based on income eligibility and need), and a $6345 education award upon successful completion of the service term.
