Job Description

Groundwork Hudson Valley is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization committed to “changing places and changing lives” in the lower Hudson Valley. Our mission is to create sustainable environmental change in urban neighborhoods through community-based partnerships that promote equity, youth leadership, and economic opportunity. Program areas include climate resilience, sustainability education, and youth leadership development. Groundwork partners with neighborhood residents, private and non-profit partners, local businesses, and government officials to identify environmental improvements that will advance equitable, healthy, vibrant communities and empower the next generation of community leaders.

 Job Summary

Provide administrative and clerical support for executive, financial, fundraising, community outreach, and program staff. This position will support various main office functions including: monitoring office inventory and ordering supplies, data entry, maintaining calendars, managing grant paperwork, and various other assignments as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain filing systems, both electronic and physical.
  • Perform administrative duties such as filing, typing, copying, scanning, etc.
  • Perform data entry tasks.
  • Obtain insurance certificates.
  • Overall support for grant paperwork and processes.
  • Perform tasks on fundraising and grant portals.
  • Support grant reporting deadlines.
  • File for site permits.
  • Support event activities.
  • Maintain calendars.
  • Schedule zoom meetings.
  • Schedule and coordinate staff and other meetings.
  • Other responsibilities as required.

 Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • At least three years of administrative experience, working in a non-profit or similar setting a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated attention-to-detail skills.
  • Accounting/budget experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Proficiency in calendar management and zoom meeting technology.
  • Experience with fundraising and financial software preferred; experience with NEON a plus.
  • Self-starter, ability to work independently and to take direction.
  • Knowledge of Yonkers communities a plus.
  • Has a passion for the guiding values and mission of Groundwork, including a commitment to environmental equity and justice.

 Compensation

 The salary range for this position is $40,000 to $45,000. Groundwork offers a generous benefits package for employees, including participation in our health insurance plan, 11 paid holidays per year, 15 paid vacation days per year, 7 paid sick days per year, and additional paid comp-time at the discretion of the Executive Director. We also offer a Simple IRA and access to TransitChek pretax transportation benefits.

March 1, 2022.
