Job Description

Join Arapahoe County’s Open Spaces Department and help preserve natural areas, enhance neighborhood and regional parks and build and maintain trails for the citizens of Arapahoe County.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Open Spaces Maintenance Technician to technically lead other maintenance technicians in the maintenance and repair of Arapahoe County parks, turf management, and associated irrigation equipment and facilities.

This critical position will provide direction to the regular full-time maintenance staff, seasonal employees, volunteers and community service workers and will be responsible for the coordination of various maintenance programs as assigned

Our anticipated hiring range is $1,495.10 to $1,772.04 bi-weekly (approximately $18.35 to $21.75 per hour).

EDUCATION:

High school graduation or GED equivalent.

EXPERIENCE:

Three or more years of progressive park, open space, trail or landscape maintenance experience.

Irrigation and turf maintenance experience preferred

Natural resource and land management experienced preferred

(An equivalent combination of education and work experience that satisfy the requirements of the job may be sufficient).

SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION:

Must pass pre-employment motor vehicle, physical, background check and drug screen.

Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid first aid/CPR certificate.

Possession of valid Colorado Class R Driver’s License.

Maintenance of acceptable driving record is necessary.

Possession of or the ability to obtain a Colorado Class A Commercial Driver’s License within one year of employment.

Possession of or the ability to obtain within six (6) months of employment, Colorado Commercial Pesticide Applicators License in the Rangeland, Right of Way, and/or Turf Categories.
