Full-Time Environmental Programs Coordinator
Salary Range: $73,312- $95,306 (plus excellent benefits)
Full-time permanent position (subject to probation)
The Environmental Programs Coordinator works within the Environmental Sustainability Department to develop and implement environmental programs in connection with municipal stormwater, water quality, and solid waste/recycling. Primary duties include overseeing water quality monitoring programs and special studies, and performing data analysis to support City compliance with a regional watershed-based Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) permit and other water quality regulations. This position will provide an experienced professional the opportunity to apply his/her skills in a small, dynamic coastal city where environmental quality is highly valued by City leaders.
The ideal candidate will be an environmental professional who has the ability to work with regulatory agencies and multiple stakeholders in implementing water quality monitoring and environmental compliance programs. He/she will be at ease working both in the office and in the field, and will be skilled in analyzing environmental data. The ideal candidate will be a team player, with strong oral and written communication skills, who can represent the City successfully in interactions with a variety of partners and stakeholders.
Minimum Qualifications Required
Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, public health, biological science, chemistry, engineering, or a related field. At least three years’ experience implementing environmental programs is desired, especially work in municipal stormwater and other environmental compliance programs. Must possess a valid California Class C Driver License and have a satisfactory driving record.
